Description

Blundstone boots are made with various materials and each one requires a different level of care. Cleaning Leather If you use a magnifying glass, you can even see the pores and small hair follicles on the smooth surface, which shows that the leather is of high quality. That said, thousands of people have given their Blundstone 550 boots a 5-star rating and absolutely love them. I just wish the lining went through the entire boot, because that would definitely add a durability boost. Sole

First, remove any large pieces of dirt from the soles of your boots. Then, using a stiff nylon brush, clean between the tread to remove any more excess dirt. If you are having trouble getting rid of all of the dirt, soak your book in a shallow container of warm water for about two hours, and then use your nylon brush to remove the dirt. They're not my all-time favorite boots when it comes to style, but I've grown to appreciate them, especially in the Rustic colorway. They have a worn-in finish, which is perfect for boots that might get roughed up — if you scuff them, it'll blend right into the natural look.

You are comfortable all day long as well due to the Xtreme comfort EVA footbeds and XRD™ Technology in the heel and front of the soles. An easy to pull on work boot with elastic gussets and finger loop pull tabs. Available in Brown Leather.I'm not the most fashionable reporter here — far from it — but when I first got a pair of Blundstone boots, while I appreciated them for their rough-and-ready design, I wasn't a huge fan of the aesthetic. What's with the two oversized tags? Is this a Chelsea boot for shepherds? For old folks? I couldn't quite place the style. If there are any scuffs, remove them with a gum eraser. Simply rub the scuff with the eraser and wipe away the rubber debris. You should only use good quality cleaning substances and ones specific to the material of your boots.

Because of the full-grain leather, expect the Blundstone 550 to show all its natural markings and blemishes which, in our opinion, adds character to the material. Blundstone leather is treated with oil for maximum water resistance making it A-ok to splash through a few puddles while on your next adventure. The Thermal Series of Blundstone boots are 100% waterproof in case those puddles turn into ponds. Maximum Comfort I like that I can dress them up with jeans and a nice sweater for a comfortable look, but still wear them with all of my warmest layers and take on a snowstorm. As seen in the pictures above, I wouldn't hesitate to wear them in the snow. The outsoles have more than enough grip to confidently traverse wet, slippery, or slushy situations in the winter. Not only are the upper of both the Blundstone 550 and 585 waterproof, but the outsoles have more than enough grip to help you to navigate wet or slushy surfaces in the winter. Dab the shoes with a clean towel to remove any excess moisture and leave it to air dry, avoiding direct sunlight or heaters. Once dry, apply a water and stain repellent spray on the shoe.

Blundstone 510 Classic Series

Both the Blundstone 550 and 585 are part of the Blundstone Classics, which is an upgrade over the original series with the addition of more comfort features.

Founded in 1870 in Tasmania, Australia, Blundstone is easily one of the most well-regarded footwear brands in the Southern Hemisphere. At its start, the brand was a boot supplier for Aussie troops in World Wars I and II, but it wasn't until 1969 when the brand introduced its most iconic silhouette, the 500 series Chelsea boot. One of the best-selling Blundstone boots, the 500 design is made from quality premium leather. A classic pull-on Chelsea boot with elastic side panels to make this effortless. These lightweight boots have PU/TPU rubber outsole with removable insoles. Available in Stout Brown leather. These systems also help to encourage upstream suppliers to improve their own environmental practices. It's also worth bearing in mind that half sizes in Blundstones provide extra width not length so a 5.5 is the same length as a 5, just a bit wider. In practice the sole of both boots is the same, the only difference is that in the half sizes there is more leather in the upper to give a bit more room. Also, with a Goodyear welt, you get a lot more water resistance, and you have the option to resole the boot in a few years time when the heel eventually wears down. Now that we’ve covered what makes the Blundstone brand stand out from the others and established that the 500 is their best-selling boot, it’s time to introduce the latest and greatest, the Blundstone 550, and what the differences are between the two. Like the Blundstone 500, the 550 also has a fiber board midsole with a notch cut out in the heel and a piece of high density foam hastily glued in. To clean the full-grain leather of Blundstone 550, first, remove any caked dirt on your boots with a soft bristled brush or a damp cloth. Once brushed, leave it to air dry while avoiding direct sunlight, which will dry out the leather. Without laces, both the Blundstone 550 and 585 rely on a strong and elastic Gore-tex material on both sides of the ankle to secure your foot in place.
