About this deal

The extended editions were also released on Blu-Ray as a box set in June 2011 [1], while the theatrical Blu-Ray was released as a box set in September 2010. If you don't know what the trilogy is about by now, you're probably not interested in picking up the complete set on Blu-ray, but to read recaps and our opinions on the theatrical adaptations of J.

Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. Bilbo and the Dwarves escape the giant Spiders and Wood-elves of Mirkwood before encountering the mysterious Bard, who smuggles them into Lake-town. Watching them again, the films still feel perfect, and though there may be some bad jokes, and perfectionists may wish that more of the books made it on screen (or were added to the extended cuts), the sheer scale that Jackson gets to by the final chapter is one of the great achievements of cinema. The set boasts more than 26 hours of additional content, highlighted by the rare behind-the-scenes documentaries created by Costa Botes, the filmmaker given unprecedented access to the set of each production by Peter Jackson. I shall move on to discuss and dissect each individual movie’s presentation, including reference to the colour-timing issues which have themselves led to a massive internet debate. Peter Jackson didn't seem like the most natural pick when selecting a director for one of the most expensive and expansive film series ever created. For Frodo to overcome the wickedness of Gollum, the horrifying attack of the colossal arachnid Shelob and the soul-twisting allure of a ring that resists destruction.
