About this deal

Cult of the Warmason by CL Werner is primarily about the Sisters of Battle going up against a Genestealer Cults infestation on the shrine world of Lubentina.

Being lazy about waiting for the chipping medium to dry, since the medium behaves weirdly through the airbrush I find it tends to pool occasionally resulting in areas that take longer to dry. You can exploit this by just not quite letting it dry in those spots as it will give a good impression of a larger patch of paint falling off after a bit of gentle rubbing with a damp brush. I find it really useful to paint the heads as a separate subassembly, it really helps to get the faces right if you have 360 degree access to them, rather than struggling to paint them when they’re surrounded by a high collar. Orange: Troll Slayer Orange. This bright orange hue is perfect for adding pops of color to miniatures and can be used to create a bold contrast with the rich purple of Magos Purple. Explore the brand new edition of Warhammer 40,000 with White Dwarf 490 . This issue introduces the White Dwarf Bunker, a worldwide gaming club – we’ll have more info on that this week. There’s also a gorgeous gallery of vibrant and verdant Sylvaneth from the staff, as well as the final part of the Grombrindal serial by Chris Thursten.*

Painting Slaanesh Daemons

Call of Chaos by Rob Sanders follows a Slaaneshi warlord through an encounter with the Stormcast Eternals. Time to do tthe eyes with a spot of white. I also edge highlight the under-lids and smooth out the transitions on the upper lip. I do a final set of highlights on the bottom lip with a 50/50 mix of Emperor’s Children and Reaper Pure White to give it a glossy look. My boy has beautiful, kissable lips. I highlight the teeth with Rakarth Flesh and then Reaper Polished Bone. I’m going to do the same on the horns eventually.

Prepare basic fleshtone mix from Slaanesh Grey, Cadian Fleshtone, and Ushabti Bone (5:3:1). I made a whole batch of this in a dropper bottle for all of my first to third generation Genestealers, so that the tone would be consistent across units. Hereafter I’ll refer to this as Genestealer Flesh Mix.There’s plenty of extra information in the full video to help you paint every single miniature in Leviathan. By applying all of these tips, you should be able to get your whole box completed in no time at all! Layer Citadel Eidolon Purple Clear across the whole gem. The best way to work with this is to blob on a fair amount and then drag it out across the entire surface rather than doing multiple coats thus to ensure a even consistency. Richyp’s Wash ‘n Go For the characters, I kept the same elements but reconfigured. The Primus is obviously quite similar to the Cultists, but the Magus trades some of the blue for his rich purple robes.

While the skin is wet.Wash in neat Citadel Carroberg Crimson over the claws to give a cheap gradient effect. I repeat this a couple of times to darken the claws. Emma: Such a rich, vibrant teal colour! It’s perfect for Seraphon and many other models – I have even thinned it down to make a spooky verdigris for Grand Alliance Death models. After that, it was just Contrast Plaguebearer Flesh on the Plaguebearer with some Contrast Blood Angels Red on the guts. Emma: This paint has a lovely jade-like tone, which is really intense and vivid. I love using it over Stormhost Silver on gemstones or thinned down for a different take on crystal blades than the usual blue.Nearly 250 years after Behemoth laid waste to Macragge in the First Tyrannic War, Hive Fleet Kraken smashed into the galaxy and reignited the nightmare all over again. This time, its tendrils fanned out wider than before, and Imperial, Aeldari, and fringe T’au Empire worlds alike felt its claws. Emma: It’s so yellow! Bad Moon Yellow covers really well all over for a clean, sharp yellow that’s super bright. It’s great on armour panels for Bad Moons – of course – and Ironjawz! These guys are practically made for Contrast. You can almost smoosh them faster than building them. To make my life easier, I’ve mounted Mr Buzz Buzz on an old paintbrush handle because flightstands are evil flimsy little bastards of a thing sent down to earth just to mess with us. I’ve left those aside for my friend to deal with. Pretty much the entirety of this step is coating the areas you want colourshifted with your paint of choice. When I did the Epitome above I used GreenStuffWorld’s Pinky Blue, but since I can’t condone that company any more I recommend Turbo Dork’s 3D Glasses, or any similar pink/purple/blue gradient.

For the flesh of the arms on more mutated hybrids, where the purple fades into blue, wet blend the Genstealer Flesh Mix with Night Lords Blue. Alternatively, glaze Night Lords Blue down the arm, increasing in intensity towards the hands. We chose to highlight these particular armies because of their distinctive qualities and the possibility for Magos Purple to improve their visual appeal. In the Warhammer 40K universe, there are three separate factions: Drukhari, Necrons, and Tyranids. Each has its unique traits and lore. Magos Purple can give their armor, troops, equipment, and weapons a particular touch that helps them stand out on the battlefield and express their personality. Magos Purple Colour Schemes & Combinations WarCom: There are many other miniatures in the box with some quite different looks. Any tips for these? THE STATION - Warhammer и Настольные Игры - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7fI8SmlQm2Q9nNYkwiRatg I only keep the plates off that I plan to spray yellow because yellow is awful to paint on by hand and I do not own an airbrush, so this is all by hand, otherwise I built the rest of the model before painting which makes posing just a tad easier too. Question remains, which is my favourite range of all? I’d say I still prefer Contrast, as they are the most richly pigmented paints, and have a good selection of colours. I wasn’t a fan of the original Speedpaints’ reactivation, but now that the 2.0 formula made the paints more stable, I found I use them more often, as the range offers a lot of choice. Xpress Colors’ slightly lower pigmentation limits their use a little bit, but they have some really nice colours and work well in combination with preshading, for example Slapchop or a zenithal basecoat. Instant Colors are the most different from all the others as they use opaque pigments, you can create some nice effects with them but I’ll only use them rarely.
