Thirty years after the 1985 tournament, Johnny Lawrence reopened Cobra Kai Dojo and sought to compete in the upcoming All Valley Karate Tournament. He learned the dojo held a lifetime ban after the unethical actions of Terry Silver, John Kreese, and Mike Barnes in the 1985 tournament. Johnny was not familiar with either Silver or Barnes at the time. Before class, Terry talks to Daniel and apologizes for the events from The Karate Kid Part III. However, Daniel sees through his deception and doesn't forgive him. At a bar, Daniel talks about his match with Mike Barnes in the 1985 All-Valley Tournament. He adds that after the match, he never saw Terry until then. Daniel tells Johnny that he knows Silver's playbook and that he now needs to takeover the training, upsetting him. The two agree to a rematch and whoever wins will takeover training. On the night of the fight, Johnny begins having second thoughts because he realizes this may not be a good idea, but Daniel still wants to fight, which Johnny then agrees to. Daniel goes up 2-1. On the verge of being victorious, Daniel uses the pressure point technique that Chozen taught him, only for Johnny to counter it and tie the score. In the decisive final round, they take each other down at the same time, thus ending the fight in a tie. After the fight, they argue about their methods and how it affected the merge. Despite Eli losing the boys portion, Sam wins the girls division and Miyagi Fang qualify for the Sekai Taikai tournament. While having a party, Miguel meets a girl and they make out, causing Sam to run out. Maridueña's first professional job was modeling for a Sears catalog.
